A dramatic view of the bow of Arabia

This image was featured in the November 2014 issue of DIVER ® Magazine. This diver is looking down at her foredeck gear and anchors. Sunk in 1884 in a November gale, all hands made it safely to nearby Echo Island.

The stern portion of this wreck was torn off by a careless anchoring prior to the establishment of Fathom Five Marine Park. The Park installed moorings at all the wreck sites to help to protect them!

Arabia can be a busy place on a warm, sunny day. Normally, I dive her alone or with one or two friends, but with other friends on a charter this day, I wanted to tag along! Two charter boats and my Zodiac form a backdrop as these divers decompress following their dive.

City of Cleveland

Here, divers explore the massive boilers on this shallow wreck. While she is badly broken up, there is still lots to see. Her remote location make her a treat to dive when the weather cooperates.

This steamer ran aground in a thick fog in the St. Lawrence River in November 1912. She lies on a steep slope in depths from 25' to 115', making her an excellent dive for all levels of experience.

Always a trick at this St. Lawrence wreck site. The current can be very strong, so hiding behind a rock helps divers stay put!

Bad Neighbor Descent

Tobermory is best-known for it's fantastic wreck diving, but it also has some amazing deep walls and caves. Here a technical diver drops down the wall at Bad Neighbor Rock, a nasty shoal north of Cove Island. It drops straight down from about 30' to well over 200'. Very few people dive here due to the remote location and difficulty anchoring.

Another deep wall, named after the wreck that sits both on top and at the bottom! This image was captured at about 170' on an especially clear day.

Running for several miles, the sides of Browning Passage are home to all manner of corals, sponges, invertebrates and fish. This image was selected for the cover of the Dive Industry of BC's promotional brochure.

Diver on the Tiller Wreck

We had fantastic visibility on this early December dive. The "tiller" is readily visible to the diver's left and a unique sight. This wreck lies in 115' of water, near St. Catherine's, in Lake Ontario.
