The thick layer of Zebra Mussels is apparent in this image. These intruders are a mixed blessing... While they help improve visibility, the plankton that they filter out of the water is food for the young members of native fish species.
We had fantastic visibility on this early December dive. The "tiller" is readily visible to the diver's left and a unique sight. This wreck lies in 115' of water, near St. Catherine's, in Lake Ontario.
